KCM (Kamba Community of Minnesota) organization is fully committed in making its members and their communities successful by tapping into locally available resources and human skills. The driving force behind this noble goal is the quest for self reliance and sustainability which may not be as easy as it sounds, but with belief, self determination and commitment, can be achieved. Collaborations, workshops, research and communication are some of the methods used by the organization towards the realization of these goals.

The Kamba people are hardworking and heavily depended on rain water. Prolonged dry spells wreck havoc on their crops and livestock. This has led acute water shortage in the region of which has led to perennial food shortages, our organization is working with local communities in conjunction with well wishers to initiate self sustaining projects that will help alleviate this problems. Our focus in this area includes:

KCM education committee wants our children and adults to realize their full potential; we believe good counseling and mentoring and up to date information on education matters can be of great importance to our members. We are fortunate to have members who can help in this regard such as Professors and Doctors. Our mission is to utilize the free services that our dear members are willing to accord.

The education committee is looking forward to pursuing avenues and means in which we can secure scholarships and sponsorships from willing organizations and individuals to help our members in realizing their education potentials. KCM advocates for its members to champion and gather information about any organization or individuals who are willing to sponsor or provide scholarships to our course in the USA and in Kenya.

Our passion is to celebrate with our fellow community members once they accomplish specific milestones. Once a year we will be holding graduation galas to our dear members. Commencements will range from pre-scholars, kindergartners, high school and college graduates.

One of KCM goals is to strength our community support system through social events and activities. By keeping our members actively engaged in our activities while soliciting for their input, it will help KCM become a strong and influential organization while helping us realize our goals as a people.
KCM is a membership driven organization and as such, we welcome you all to actively participate and highly encourage you to chip in.

Given the uncertainty of some life changing events in our lives, the community came together and decided to establish a fund that would help families and friends cope in such eventualities. The Benevolent Fund is specifically aimed at assisting members and their families in the event of a bereavement. For enrolled members, a set amount of cash assistance is disbursed to the next of kin within 48 hours after an occurrence has been reported to the organization.

This fund is meant to give bereaved families an immediate boost as the other arrangements are made. During this period, a communication is sent out to all members and their friends through our website and other social networks with the aim of marshalling support and prayers during this difficult moment.
